وضعیت حفاظتی: در خطر

ویژگی های ظاهری: سطح پشتی به رنگ خاکستری تیره یا مشکی رنگ است. دم در افراد نابالغ داراری حلقه های زرد رنگ است و این حلقه ها در یک سوم انتهایی یا نیمه انتهایی دم در افراد بالع باقی مانده و مابقی دم سیاه رنگ می شود. سر در افراد نابالغ مشکی بوده و در سن بلوغ کاملاً به رنگ زرد در می آید. دست کم نیمه ابتدایی دم (درنمای پهلو) دارای بندهایی است که از بیش از دو حلقه پولک تشکیل شده اند و گاه این بند ها قابل تشخیص نیستند. پولک های سطح پشتی همگن بوده و در ردیف های مورد طولی آرایش یافته اند. این گونه فاقد چین خوردگی پوستی در اطراف گردن است. طول پوزه تا مخرج 164 و طول دم 344 میلی متر است.
پراکنش جهانی: در ایران و پاکستان.
زادآوری: این گونه تخم گذار است.
عادت و رفتار: در ساعات گرم روز فعالیت می کند. معمولاً روی سنگ ها ، صخره ها، برآمدگی ها یا دیوار های صخره ای می نشیند و هنگام احساس خطر در زیر سنگها و یا شکاف صخره ها پنهان می شود . گاه دیده میشود که به محض احساس خطر روی دست های خود حرکتی شبیه به شنا رفتن را در می آورد. این گونه به صورت کلنی زندگی میکند.
